Skull Camp Has Live Burn Training On Gilmer Miller Rd.
Several Attacks Were Made On This Five Room House. The Fires Were Started In The
Back Of The House First And Were Then Spread Toward The Front Of The House.
Fire Fighters Gained Experience Of Being In The Structure As A Pre-Cut
Ventilation Hole Was Open, And Positive Pressure Ventilation Vans Setup Through
This The Firefighters Seen The Advantages, And Disadvantages Of Ventilation.
Also, Franklin Fire Department Assisted With The Training By Pumping It
With One Of Their Reserve Pumpers.

Skull Camp Responds To A 4 Alarm Fire On A
Cold January Morning.
Units Arrived To Find A Single
Story Wood Frame Structure With Heavy Smoke Conditions Visible From The Exterior
Of The House. Firefighters Worked Over 2
Hours To Bring The Fire Under Control.
The Weather Played A Huge Factor In This Fire With Temperatures Around 20
Degrees And Wind Blowing About 20 MPH.
Skull Camp Was Assisted By: Pine Ridge,
Central Surry And Franklin Volunteer Fire Departments.
Chief R. Draughn Reported That The Fire Started In Attic Area.
The Fire Started As A Chimney Fire Early In The Morning.
The Fire Department Was Dispatched Around 7:15 Hours To The Fire.
