Station 1

ENGINE 1

E-1 is a 2000 Model FL-80 American LaFrance pumper/tanker.  E-1 holds 1000 gallons of water and has a 1250 GPM pump.  E-1 has 3-200’ pre-connected attack lines, 1700’ of supply line, eight 4.5 air packs and spare bottles, a thermal imaging camera, and rescue equipment including an Amkus combination spreader/cutter tool. E-1 is the first run apparatus from station 1 on all calls except medical calls.  Also E-1 responds to all mutual aid calls.

 


TANKER 1

T-1 is a 2007 International Pumper/Tanker.  T-1 hold 2200 gallons of water and has a 1000 GPM pump.  Although used primarily as a tanker, T-1 is a classified as a Class-A pumper and can be used accordingly.  T-1 is the first run tanker from station 1.  T-1 also responds to all mutual aid fires.


TRUCK 1

TRK-1 is a 1997 GMC Suburban.  TRK-1 handles all medicals in the Skull Camp district.  TRK-1 carries medical equipment, including an AED.


TRUCK  6

TRK-6 is a 2002 Ford F-350.  TRK-6 is set up to handle the departments rescue calls.  TRK-6 carries medical equipment, including an AED.  TRK-6 also carries rescue equipment including a hydraulic pump that runs our spreaders, cutters, ram, and combination tools.  TRK-6 also carries a collection of hand tools for rescue situations, cribbing, jacks, all grades of rope, back boards, a stokes basket, a GPS unit, CO monitor, and much more.


BRUSH 1

B-1 is a 1996 Ford F-350 Power Stoke Diesel.  B-1 carries 300 gallons of water and has a 250 GPM pump.  B-1 responds to all wildland fires in our district.  B-1 carries equipment to equip a seven man hand crew.  Equipment carried includes:  fire rakes, chain saws, pulaski’s, leaf blowers and wildland firefighter day packs with fire shelters.  Also B-1 has a weather station for wildland fires.  B-1 also has equipment to set up at our water point locations to fill tankers.



TANKER 3

T-3 is a 2002 model FL-80 tanker.  T-3 carries 1400 gallons of water.  T-3 also carries a 2500 gallon drop tank that is used by the department for water shuttle.  T-3 is the second run tanker out of station 1.

ATV 1

ATV-1 is a 2007 Kawasaki Mule.  ATV-1 is a 4x4 ATV with differential lock.  ATV-1 can set up to four people and has a dump bed.  ATV-1 has a wench and it's own trailer.  ATV-1 responds to rescue calls and fires off the roadway.

Station 2

ENGINE 2

E-2 is a 1998 FL-70 Freightliner 3D pumper.  E-2 holds 1000 gallons of water and has 1000 GPM pump.  E-2 has two pre-connected  attack lines.  E-2 also carries 1200’ of supply line.  E-2 also has eight air packs & SCBA bottles.  E-2 also carries 3 saws.  1-circle saw, 1-vent master saw & 1-regular chain saw.  E-2 also carryings medical and rescue equipment.  E-2 is the first out apparatus from station 2.



Brush 2

B-2 is a 1994 Ford F-350 diesel.  B-2 holds 300 gallons of water and has a 250 GPM pump.  B-2 responds to all wildland fires out of station 2.  B-2 carries equipment to equip a 7 man hand crew.  equipment carried includes:  fire rakes, chain saws, pulaski’s, leaf blowers and wildland firefighter day packs with fire shelters.  B-2 also has equipment to set up at our water point locations to fill tankers.


Skull Camp Station 1 Was Built When The Fire Department Was Formed In 1977.  This Station Helps Serve The Citizens Of Beulah, Haystack, Round Peak And Blevins Store Communities.  Also Station 1 Responds To The Historical Franklin House In The Haystack Community And The Cedar Ridge Elementary School Located On Flippin Road.  The Station Houses 5 Pieces Of Apparatus (Engine, Tanker, Rescue Truck, Brush Truck And Command Car), A Kitchen, Large Meeting Room, And Office For Officers. 


Skull Camp Station 2 Was Build In 2000 To Help Serve The Citizens Located In The Lowgap Community.  Station Number 2 Was Dedicated To The Life Long Firefighter And First Responder Of Skull Camp Fire Department John L Wood.  Station 2 Was To Better Access The Orchard Mountain And FBI Mountain Communities.  Station 2 Houses 3 Pieces Of Apparatus (Engine, Tanker And Brush Truck).  Station 2 Includes Apparatus Bay Area, Kitchen, Upstairs Storage And Office Area.  Station 2 Also Responds To Sections Of Highway 89 From Lowgap Until The Top Of The Mountain Area, As Well As The Blue Ridge Parkway.


Specialized Apparatus

Franklin Community Volunteer Fire Department Houses This Piece Of Apparatus.  Pump Truck 511 Responds To All 2 Alarm Dispatches That Skull Camp Is Dispatched On.  Truck 511 Assignment Is To Respond To The Nearest Water Point Location Nearest The Fire.  511 Sets Up At The Water Point Location To Provide Quick Water Supply For Filling Tankers And Assisting With Water Shuttle.  511 Is An 2000 F-350 Power Stroke Diesel Assembled On A Flat Bed Chassis.  This Truck Carries A 1000 Gallon Per Minute Pump.  Also This Truck Carries 60’ Of Hard Suction Hose, Along With 800’ Of 5” LDH Hose That Is To Be Used With A  Water Thief To Allow For Filling More Than One Tanker At A Time.  This Apparatus Is Accessible At All 27 Of Our Water Points And Is Available To Flow At Least 900 Gallon Per Minute At Each Of The Water Points.
